Google acknowledged reports that there is a persistent technical problem holding up the indexing of recently published website content. According to the update that came on Thursday night, search liaison of google revealed that the they are actively trying to find the source of the issue. However, Google did not initially give a projected time frame for fixing the problem.
Any content posted to websites from now onwards until the issue is addressed may not immediately appear in Google search results due to the indexing delays.
This may have an effect on news publishers in particular because breaking news or current news stories and other relevant content might not be correctly indexed.
Google should once again begin to index any previously unpublished content that was impacted once the technical issue has been fixed.
Publishers can access the google search status Dashboard to view the most recent information on indexing problems. The dashboard will automatically show when google will locate and effectively fix the issues.
